Facebook

    • If you already have a Facebook Business Page, you can skip this step.
    • If you don't have one, go to the Facebook homepage while logged into your account, click on the dropdown menu on the top right, and select 'Create Page'. Follow the prompts to create your business page.
    • Go to Facebook Business Suite (business.facebook.com) and log in with your Facebook account.
    • If you have not done so already, you will need to connect your business page to Facebook Business Suite by following the prompts.
    • In the Facebook Business Suite, go to the 'Inbox' tab.
    • Here, you'll find the option to set up Messenger. Follow the prompts to complete the setup.
    • While still in the 'Inbox' tab, click on 'Automated Responses'.
    • Here, you can customize your automated greeting, instant replies, and away messages.
    • Go back to your business page and select 'Settings' at the top right.
    • In the left column, select 'Messaging'.
    • Under the 'Add Messenger to your website' section, you can choose to add a Messenger button or box to your website.
    • If you wish to add Facebook Messenger directly to your website, you can generate a code snippet within Facebook Business Suite.
    • Go to the 'Customer Chat Plugin' section and follow the steps to generate the code.
    • You'll then need to add this code to your website's HTML.

Instagram

    • Instagram Business Chat is only available to business accounts. To switch to a business account, go to your profile, tap on the three lines at the top right, then select "Settings." From there, select "Account," then "Switch to Professional Account," and then "Business."
    • Instagram Business Chat requires you to connect your Instagram account to a Facebook Page. After switching to a business profile, you'll have an option to connect to Facebook. If you haven't done it yet, you can do it by going to your profile, then "Settings," then "Account," and then "Linked Accounts." From there, select "Facebook" and follow the instructions.
    • To do this, you have to set it up from your linked Facebook Page. Open Facebook and go to your connected Facebook Page. Click "Settings" at the top of the Page, then "Instagram," and then under "Instagram Direct," click "Get Started." Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.
    • Once you've set up Instagram Business Messaging, you can manage your Instagram messages from your Facebook Page Inbox.
